Season In Review

Originally conceived in the T+L Lab as a data-visualization experiment, Season In Review was both an iPad app & accessory for visualizing MLB game data from 2012 & 2013.

The app displays the statistics of the baseball season, but instead of having all information displayed on the screen, we decided to build a physical cover to compliment the experience. To tell the story of each team, we decided to pick a relatively simple and relatable measurement - the number of games back a team is from first place. When selecting certain options in the application, different areas of the screen would turn on, therefore illuminating the team's corresponding chart (which were made from clear acrylic plastic).

The interactive unit combines dynamic & physical information to create an engaging visual experience that tells the story of 162 games across 30 teams.
